Is an Acoustic Guitar saposed to be longer when you play it, than an Electric guitar?
Is an Acoustic Guitar saposed to be longer when you play it, than an Electric guitar?
Just wondering! (When I mean longer I mean by like a couple inches.)
Guitar manufacturers make their guitars different lengths for a reason- different lengths cause different string tensions (the length I'm referring to is the distance between the nut and the bridge). This is called the "scale length". Acoustic guitars may appear to have a longer scale length because the body of the instrument is so big, and the bridge is typically very near the center of the body of the guitar. The bridges on electric guitars are very near the end/bottom of the guitar.
