The first peg of the low E string on the bridge of my acoustic guitar is sticking out. What can I do?
I just got a brand new guitar for my birthday and I'm new at this so please bear with me. It is a Washburn Lyon steel-string acoustic guitar. The first peg on the low E string on the bridge was sticking out a bit at first. When I tightened it to tune it it now sticks out about a 3/4 of a centimeter. What can I do to fix it and get it to stay?
Loosen the string, and then pull out the peg. It probably has a notch along one side. Be sure when you put the peg back in that the notch is in a position that will allow the string to fit inside it. The notch should be facing the neck of the guitar. This should allow the peg to seat itself more deeply.
