How much torque (planning to use a servo) do I need in order to pluck a standard acoustic guitar string?
Im working on a project where my team is designing and fabricating an automated acoustic guitar player. I am planning on using RC Servos in order to pluck the strings but Im having a hard time deciding on what size/force servo I need.
I would definitely prefer the smallest servo possible that will do the job but I have not been able to find any information on how much torque is needed in order to pluck a string so I can decide how much torque my servo needs to produce. Does anyone have any suggestion or advice on this issue?

do you play guitar ?
if so, imagine how much pressure you place on a string to pluck it and try to convert this to how much weight you could lift with your finger, make it approximate and fine tune it (pardon the pun) later.
once you have this about right and you know the distance from the centre of your servo to the string you can calculate the required torque, i wouldn't imagine it will be very high.
