Acoustic guitar with built in electronics suffer sound quality?
I'm thinking of getting an all solid wood acoustic guitar. The model I'm looking at is offered with and without built in electronics. The acoustic/electric one has it built into the top side of it and is a cutaway design. How much of a difference in sound quality is there, if any? The model I'm looking at is the Alvarez MD350 or MD350C.
I hate cutaways. That is my bias. I always think it looses the richness of the sound of full body guitars. I had my electronics put in afterwords. It's more money but you can save up for it.
Also, if your going to be spending that much on a guitar, why in the world would you want to put electronics into it? Yes, I know it is hard to keep close to a mic and feedback and so on. But your loosing so much sound quality with the electrification.
If you want an electric, buy an electric!
