Which Guitar And Amp?
I have been playing electric and acoustic guitar now for aroung 6 months and have decided I am ready to begin collecting my money to replace my Fender Squier due to the fact that it has limited capabilites and doesn't have the best sound quality. i have been looking at guitars am ideally wishing to purchase one which I won't need to replace and will suit my needs for the coming years. After a little research I found that many of my favorite artists use the Fender Telecaster guitar. What is the difference between a Tele and a Strat or Squier. The music I play is mostly Snow Patrol, O.A.R., and other music of the sort. I also need an amp, preferrably with distortion capabilites and good sound quality. I am not a performer so a large amp isn't necessary (my 15w gets me by) but I know I probably won't find these capabilites in such a small amp. My max budget is $1,000 but I would like to spend less oboviously. Currently I am leaning towards a 72 Telecaster Deluxe.
Sounds good i have a strat and its niiiice. The difference between a Stratocaster and a Squier is that a squiers basically a cheaper version of a stratocaster. While a telecaster is generally more of a country music guitar but it is also good for what you mentioned. A Strat can be used for a wide variety of music. I bought my strat because all of my guitar heros played strats and once i got my hands on one i understood why:) But i think a telecaster is a good choice Fender makes great guitars, and you probably could have it for the rest of your life unless you set fire to it lol. As for the amp i would recommend maybe a marshall or fender amp. They are good quality amps but may push you over your price range. There are many different types of amps though so you could read reviews on some different brands and see if they would suit your needs for a cheaper price. Or you might want to see if you could find a good amp thats been used for a cheaper price. Good luck!
