How much would a good nylon string guitar cost?
I am an aspiring classical guitarist and I just want to know how much it would cost me.
On choosing an instrument (any instrument) buy the best you can reasonably afford that will do what you immediately want it to do and that will serve you into the future as your playing improves. In recorder circles we all know that good plastic is better than bad wood (no choice, really). I wouldn't give up either my hand made (expensive) ones or one of my plastic ones that has a lovely sweet tone.
This doesn't work with guitars, however! Try different ones out. Check the action, how it feels and how you relate to the sound. Do you like it and will it do what you want it to do? Later, you might look at other instruments, and when you win the lottery or become famous, you can buy special edition brands or handmade. (Not being too facetious -I really wouldn't have ever been able to afford the handmade instruments if there hadn't been a small windfall that year.)
