Is there anyway i can place any extra controls on a epiphone les paul special and maybe gibson pickups?
I wanted to get an epiphone les paul special (black) and spruce it up and put on: replace previous pickups with authentic gibson pickups, new gold tuning keys, (maybe) a pickguard, change the position of the toggle switch and place 2 more volume/reverb knobs. I want to basically customise this thing from the ground up!

There's no point putting a reverb knob on a guitar - that's what the amp setting is for!
Basically, by the time you've paid for all the customisations, you'll have paid the same amount for a geniune Gibson anyway.
Number 1: Epiphone Les Pauls have geniune Gibson pickups in. They use the ones that Gibson puts in their Standard Les Pauls
Number 2: By the time you've routed a big chunk of wood out the back for the new knobs, you'll have lost a huge amount of mahogany which in turn loses a huge amount of sustain
Number 3: To fit TWO extra volume knobs is entirely pointless... what the hell would they be for? You only have two (at the maximum.. three) pickups... 4 volume knobs is pointless.
Number 4: There's no point putting a reverb knob on a guitar - that's what the amp setting is for!
Stop being a daft prune, and save up for a Gibson, and leave it alone. It's not the world's best guitar for no reason. If you have to carve up a guitar and put random useless knobs on it, use a cheap old thing and make it interesting - those guitars could USE new pickups.
Les Pauls from either Gibson or Epiphone are made to the best they possibly can be. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
