changing acoustic guitar strings with classical ones?
yes, yes. i have been to several sites and they all tell me the same: never use the 'wrong' strings! however, i just wanna know why i cannot do so. does it damage the guitar? i do realise that the sound wiil be cmprimised, however, i am but a noob beginner. thus, i don really care much about the sound. also will the stings actuall fit into the acoustic guitar. i am planning to buy the D'AQUISTO ball ended #450, the one with the black nylon trebles and fix it to an unknown china guitar.
I would suggest to go ahead and try those new strings. They are not expensive ( $4.04 at http://www.juststrings.com/daq-450.html ) and the strings have a normal tension. I don't think that tuning the guitar as usual will bend the neck with those strings.
The only thing that could go wrong is the possibility that you can't fit strings through bridge holes, or that the string might not fit in the neck grooves. Otherwise you'll be fine, no problems.
