Question About Sixpence/penny Tradition?
"something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a lucky sixpence in her shoe"
I looked up the rhyme and there's also one that says penny,
So should I use a penny since I'm American and the sixpence is European or does it really matter???
(There's also ones that say a silver sixpence...)
I know it sounds silly to get worked up over a coin, but it's my first and (hopefully) only wedding.
Thanks ^_^
I'm using a Tossing Garter for Blue, and I might be borrowing my fiance's step sister's Tiara she used for her wedding, I have a dress/earrings that might be considered old, unless my Grandma has something for me that I can use...
I could even use a wheat penny for the old and coin in the shoe thing....
I could even use a wheat penny for the old and coin in the shoe thing.... I guess
It is a sixpence in the shoe, but it has been updated through time, as the sixpence has gone out of circulation. Regardless, if you want to be traditional, Hallmark sells sixpences with a little silk cover. Let me tell you, it makes it so much more comfortable in your shoe! I would recommend that, plus it makes a great keepsake. Also, make sure its in your left shoe! The right shoe is bad luck!
