Can anyone tell me if this is a good acoustic guitar?

I absolutely love Martins, but I'm not too impressed with the DM. I think it is particularly 'plain' sounding Martin compared to the other typically 'complex' sounding Martins. I've played 2 or 3 of them in stores and was really shocked to hear how they didn't measure up to my SWOMGT. I'm also not a fan of the pickups in this model. They sound a little tinny.
But remember, if it sounds good to YOU, then you should buy it.
You also need to ask yourself what kind of tone you are looking for. Do you want a deep, dark, complex, or boomy tone? If so, look at an all-mahogany guitar (I'd recommend looking at a Guild M20 or Martin 15/17 series. Remember, vintage guitars are game, too!)
There are also guitars for fans of smoother, more balanced tones. Taylors are really known for their bright, crisp trebles. There are also some Japanese guitars which sound absolutely beautiful. Some of the smoothest tones I've ever heard came from some Yamahas.
Once you decide the tone you want, you should look for guitars that have the wood you're looking for. Basically:
Mahogany = boomy, dark, typical for blues guitar
Rosewood = smoother, great for melodic music
Check out some guitar forums for other wood options.
Finally, consider what type of body you'd like to play. I prefer Martin OMs for fingerstyle. Dreadnoughts are popular choices for strummers.
Ok I'm making this answer way too long =P
Goodluck
