What kind of strings should I put on a Martin D28 if I finger pick country blues in the Brownie Maghee style?
What are some good brands, types and guages of guitar stings for a Martin D-28 I should consider if I plan on finger picking a lot of Piedmont style blues?
Martin Bronze, the best - hands down. I don't play that style, but why don't you look up some famous picker in that style and check his gear? Basically, the only important decision is gauge, and the rule is simple: the greaster the gauge, the louder/fuller the sound but the harder neck action. Since in picking you don't need much sustain (it's all attack, really), you could go with fairly thin strings.
