It's about strings 
When you first put a new set of strings on your guitar, at what point after that are you meant to get the best out of them? A couple of days? a week? How long before they "wear in"?
I just hate the tinny sound you get when you first put them on[perhaps I was just so used to the old set?].
Is there a way I can speed the wearing in process up, or just keep playing?
Info - I change my strings every month.
I play for about 30-60mins a day.
I'm an intermediate player.
and I'm using Martin SP lights.

It takes a good few weeks at least, you shouldn't need to change them every month. I've had my acoustic for about 5 years and only had to change the strings once (but then that was a little overdue!). The main problem I had once they were changed was that it kept going out of tune really quickly. The more you play should speed the process along a bit though.
