I have some problems with and acoustic electric bass?
a buddy of mine just bought a replica of a Ovation Elite T Nikki 6 acoustic electric bass. its made by Houston and he got it for 200.
it was tuned WAY low so we started to tune it up more and as we did each string, the bridge started to separate from the body.
my buddy likes the look of the bass and wants to keep it but obviously this is a problem.
any suggestions on how to fix it and keep it fixed? or maybe the best course of action from here period. thanks!
One of the most important parts of your instrument is the bridge. It is precision, (I mean PRECISION) set by the manufacturer. Don't even try to repair it. You'll only screw it up more. I speak from experience. Bring the instrument to an authorized factory repair outlet. Call the manufacturer. Tell them the problem. They will advise you as to where to bring it for accurate repair.
