Seagull Performer
Which guitar strings should I use to keep the sound I have?

I bought a Seagull Performer Series Cutaway about two months ago and I am heading off to college. I want to stock up on strings but I have no way of buying Godin strings. I love the sound my Seagull has and I don't want to ruin it. So what would be a good replacement?

On Seagull's website it states that Seagull guitars come equipped with light gauge phosphor bronze strings.

Phosphor bronze strings do sound different than regular bronze strings. I personally prefer phosphor bronze strings.

Elixer definitely makes the best sounding strings in my opinion, and the
bright tone lasts much longer than with regular strings.

If you like the sound and ease of playing now, stick with light gauge strings. You can switch to medium or extra-light gauge if you like.

Medium strings will give your guitar a bit more bass, but they are a little harder to play. Extra-light strings are way easier to play, but they make your guitar sound thinner and cut down on volume.
