what is the difference between a Folk Guitar and a regular accoustic guitar?
I just recently put strings on an old guitar I had collecting dust in the back of my closet. I am not very guitar savvy so I turned to the internet. I know it is a folk guitar. What exactly does that mean? do I have to use diff rent tabs as apposed to a regular Accoustic guitar? Are their any good websites to use?

"Folk guitar" is a meaningless term. I assume it's supposed to imply it's a guitar suitable for folk music, but I play folk music and really any steel string acoustic guitar is fine for folk music. The term is typically used to indicate a steel string flattop guitar with a body size smaller than a dreadnought or jumbo, something like an auditorium or grand concert size.
It is played exactly the same as any other guitar, acoustic or electric.
If you're really interested in learning to play the guitar, get lessons from a professional guitar teacher. There is no substitute for that.
