I have a jasmine by takamine es50c acoustic bass and it makes almost every cable i plug in to it buz...
Elixer, Fender and a lot of companies make higher quality cables.
Also, occasionally spray a little contact cleaner, or better yet, Deoxit D5 into the jack in your bass, the contacts get dirty, and can cause some of the noise too.
