First acoustic guitar?
So I've been wanting to learn for a while, and here's a guitar that I've found when I browsed through GuitarCenter:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Takamine-G440C-Acoustic-Guitar-103925020-i1148979.gc
Is it good for a never-touched-a-guitar-in-her-life beginner? The price tag seems a lot compared to something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Jasmine-Takamine-S34C-Cutaway-Acoustic/dp/B0002GXZK4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1263628605&sr=1-7
So is worth it to spend the extra $150? I'm determined to learn. One more question: what strings to start with? I think 10 gauge is okay, but what specific type(s) do you recommend? I want to experiment, please just suggest a few. Thank you.
Just to clear something up, I think the second one is only online, the first one I think it available at the GuitarCenter.
Both are Takamines so you're in apparently good hands. Though I don't trust 5-star reviews, the cheaper one scored well on there anyway.
Stringwise- there's nothing wrong with starting out with .009s. It became somewhat of a fad in the last few years to play with .010s & higher, but if you're just starting out .009s might go easier on your fingertips.
Good luck
