Takamine Tf740fs Om Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar $1999 The Takamine TF740FS OM Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a welcome addition for both acoustic and fingerstyle players. With a smaller length, depth and waist as compared to a dreadnought the TF740FS is a "purpose built" professional acoustic-electric guitar. Part of Takamine's Tradesman Series guitars, the TF740FS OM was conceived to provide guitarists with carefully considered elements for specific musical environments. Built with luthier-selected solid tone woods, the Takamine fingerstyle guitar reflects the highest level of commitment to the art and craft of guitar making. The TF740FS OM Fingerstyle is built to react accurately to your particular musical style. The guitar neck's 48mm width, and cutaway design provide plenty of range and comfort for intricate movements. The end result is a beautifully crafted acoustic-electric guitar that is perfect for students and professionals alike. The look is sweet and the playing experience is pure inspiration. The TF740FS OM guitar starts with a select cedar top, presenting balanced tone in a light appearance. The solid mahogany back and sides offer bold projection, with plenty of dynamic range. The rugged ebony fingerboard adds crisp sustain, while the compensated bridge and gold tuners keep the instrument's tuning precise. Other appointments include an abalone rosette, dot inlays, asymmetrical neck, and a gloss natural finish. At the heart of the Takamine fingerstyle guitar is an impressive and intuitive electronics system that allows you to amplify your sound quickly and easily. Takamine's Palathetic pickup offers superior sound balance, high separation, and clear, natural sound. Takamine owes much to the unique design of this device. With six individually shielded piezo-electric transducersone for each stringthe unit is secured beneath the bridge saddle. This unique design allows the pickup to be isolated from the vibration of the body, and enables each transducer to pick up the vibration of the string directly through the bridge saddle, which limits potential feedback, even in a heavy-volume environment. The CoolTube on-board tube preamp features bass and treble tone controls, semi-parametric midrange, a second-source input and blend control, and a chromatic tuner.6-stringOM bodySelect cedar topSolid mahogany back and sidesEbony fingerboardAbalone rosetteDot inlaysGold tunersCompensated bridge644mm scaleAsymmetrical neck shape18 fretsPalathetic pickupCoolTube controlsIncludes case |

What do you know about a Takamine N-15 Acoustic Guitar?
This guitar is discontinued but I am looking at a used one as a second guitar. Selling price is $350 with case - is that crazy? How does this things sound if you have one?
$350 sounds like a pretty good deal. the N-15 was a good guitar, it had natural wood binding instead of plastic like most others.
i own a late 70's takamine 12 string, its basically a martin hd-28 copy. fantastic guitar. very loud, and it's made really well.
basically, almost any takamine sounds good, as long as it's not the bottom of the line models. and, it comes with a case. go for it.
