Do I need a pickguard on my acoustic guitar?
I have a Takamine acoustic guitar and I have worn down the wood finish over the years. The guitar never had a pickguard so everytime I strummed it wore out the wood. Do I need to do something about it?
I wouldn't. It gives the guitar character. Take a look at Willie Nelson's guitar sometime. Lot of great musicians play worn instruments.
