acoustic guitar pickup not working on 2 high strings?
Hi I have a Takamine EG560C Acoustic, it has a split bridge, a main one for the low 4 and a smaller one for the high 2. For a while now the 2 high strings have not been getting picked up when I plug it in. Can anyone suggest anything I can try to remedy the problem, I have tried the mini jacks going into the preamp box and all connections seem fine, any thoughts?
Yes they are metal strings, yes battery is good, connections are good, leads are good, rather confused :/
Sounds like the bridge is losing contact with the pickup underneath... You should take it to a reputable luthier or repairman and ask what should be done.
You may need a new pickup sensor - under the bridge... This does happen occasionally.
