You will have to change the strings often...especially if you play it a lot. Music stores sell special polish for guitars. I gues you could use furniture polish...but I use what the music store sells. I have a Takamini with a natural finish and also own an upright bass that I polish often.

There is a set of strings you could buy that would probably be better for you than regular steel strings because you spend a lot of time at the beach. They are called Elixers. They are twice as much but sound good and last a long time.
