Can you tell me the top acoustic guitar brands?
I am going to buy an acoustic guitar today so I would like to know what the best brands are. Please put the following brands in order from best to least (the most i can spend is $350)
Epiphone
Samick
Seagull
Ibanez
Washbrun
Fender
Yamaha
Dean
Taylor
Ovation

All of these companies make excellent guitars at various price ranges. If the most you can spend is $350, Taylors are out of your range (unless you go with the Baby Taylor), but you CAN get a guitar with a solid wood top.
When it comes to affordable acoustic guitars with solid wood tops, I have not come across a more consistently excellent manufacturer than Alvarez, which is a brand you did not name.
I work in a guitar shop, and we set up all our guitars before we put them on the floor (adjust the action, file down any sharp frets, etc.). When an Alvarez comes in, I always breathe a sigh of relief because I know I will have very little work to do! There are never any sharp frets, and 9 out of 10 times the action is set up perfectly as it comes from the factory. They come equipped with Elixir strings and FOR THE MONEY, you cannot beat the quality -- they are easy to play and sound incredibly full and rich. They also come with excellent tuning machines.
When it comes to acoustic guitars in your price range, I strongly suggest you go with an Alvarez. If you insist on going with a guitar on your list, avoid Fender and Samick -- they are good instruments but they never come set up right from the factory. 9 out of 10 times we have to make serious adjustments on these guitars before we put them out on the floor, so unless you know somebody that would do this work for you for free, go with another brand. Yamaha also makes wonderful instruments in your price range.
