Avenue Archtop Acoustic
Can an Archtop Hollowbody guitar be played acousticaly or should i just get an acoustic archtop?

For my next guitar I know for a fact that I want an archtop, but I dont know which one to get. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Godin-5th-Avenue-Kingpin-Archtop-Hollowbody-Electric-Guitar-With-P-90-Pickup-500320-i1432042.gc Is this like an acoustic electric that can be played acoustically and electricaly, or is this just and electric guitar? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Godin-5th-Avenue-Series-Archtop-Acoustic-Guitar-518494-i1395542.gc This is bassically the same guitar just without a pickup, I know this cannot be played electrically should i just get this one instead of getting the other?

The first guitar in your link would be able to be played as an acoustic, as you thought, since it's a hollow body and essentially the same as the acoustic version in your second link. Having the pickup would just enable you to play it with amplification. Unless you're going to be playing through an amp or PA system, you should probably go with the acoustic version. But if you're keeping open the option of playing shows, the first would be an excellent choice. Acoustics with F-holes don't throw quite as much sound as guitars with standard soundholes, but the sound they do emit is beautiful.

By the way, you have excellent taste in guitars! Godins sound as beautiful as they look.
